Huge thanks to Louise and Gareth for running the Vitality British 10k

Huge thanks to Louise and Gareth for running the Vitality British 10k

Our huge thanks goes to Louise Williams and Gareth Perry (pictured right) for running the Vitality British 10k on Sunday 9th July to raise money for Mayer Rokitansky Kuster Hauser Syndrome (MRKH).  Louise is part of the Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology (PAG) team at UCLH and the money that they raise from the run will help to pay for an open day for friends and family of MRKH patients.  MRKH is a congenital mullerian agensis and affects around 1 in 5,000 women.

Louise and Gareth take part in this event every year to raise funds for MRKH.

Louise says 'Our team holds an open day every year so that women who would potentially never meet another person with their condition have an opportunity to learn the latest updates in fertility and also gain a community of support. We both had a great time on the run- Gareth always gets a much better time than me- I'm just glad to be able to finish! Half way round the course this year, whilst feeling a bit tired and slow a man patted me on my very sweaty back and said "alright UCLH, thanks for sorting out my cancer" which made me feel rather proud (not me personally sorting his cancer- I'm a congenital gynaecology CNS- but still, a restorative moment).'
