A huge thank you to the runners of the British 10k!

A huge thank you to the runners of the British 10k!

We are very grateful to the 12 people who took part in the British 10k on Sunday 12th July and raised money for a number of our projects here at UCL Hospitals Charitable Foundation.  We are very grateful for their support and hope that everybody had a wonderful day.

The British 10k London run is one of the most iconic 10k's in England, and took place on car free roads through London, past some of the world's most famous sights including St Paul’s Cathedral, the London Eye, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, Nelson’s Column and Westminster Abbey.

Our runners all supported our projects, ranging from raising funds for Lungs for Living, to raising money for the Fetal Medicine Unit.

Emma O'Neill raised £100 for the Cancer Clinical Trials Unit, thank you Emma!

Louise Williams, a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Women's Health at UCLH, ran the 10k with her boyfriend Gareth Perry (pictured below).  Together they raised £240 to towards the Fetal Medicine Unit, a fantastic achievement.

Victoria Sorel-Cameron (pictured below with her husband and daughter), a Specialist Pain Nurse at UCLH, raised money for Lungs for Living.  Victoria ran the 10k in 1 hour 3 minutes, well done Victoria, a great result!

A huge thank you to Dr Rupali Arora (pictured below) for raising money for our general funds.  Dr Rupali Arora works in Cellular Pathology at UCLH.  Rupali told us 'The 10k run was awesome fun, the weather was perfect too! It didn't rain and the light breeze helped. This was my first 10k and I finished it in 1 hour 24 minutes.'

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the British 10k this year, we will have more places available in 2016!
