We have a fantastic programme of events lined up for 2019!

We rely on the generosity of our supporters to raise money to fund our projects. Taking part in an event is a wonderful way to not only challenge yourself and realise a personal goal, but also to raise awareness about our work at the same time. We are hugely grateful to these people who come from all walks of life, some of them accomplishing things that they would never have dreamed possible. In 2019 we have an exciting programme of events lined up, from treks to cycle rides to runs.

We hope that you will consider signing up to one of our events, helping us to continue investing in our projects whilst making 2019 a year to remember. Thank you to everybody who has taken part in our events so far and to those considering supporting us in this way in the future.

Setting off at the beautiful Lake Iseo, you will tackle the legendary climbs of the Passo di Gavia (2621m) and the short but fearfully steep Passo di Mortirolo. A brief detour into Switzerland takes you back over the Passo dello Stelvio (2758m) – the second highest paved mountain pass in Europe, and one of the most impressive roads in the Alps. This epic ride ends at Lake Como, with wonderful views and one last climb of the Madonna del Ghisallo, with it’s Chapel at the summit. It’s classic, it’s hard, but it will be one of the best cycling experiences that you’ll ever have!

This is a stunning non-technical winter trek on the edge of the Arctic Circle. As you search for the Northern Lights in southern Iceland you will trek through a striking mix of geothermal valleys and beautiful mountain scenery, streams and waterfalls. Iceland is a land of incredible contrast and natural beauty, its wild volcanic landscapes, mountains, glaciers, hot springs, geysers and waterfalls, combined with its rich history, literature and folklore make it a fascinating country to explore. The warmth of the geothermal activity keeps the route clear of snow, so that you can take advantage of seeing this beautiful region in winter. Staying in huts miles from the nearest big towns, the dark skies offer a great chance of seeing the spectacular Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).

For this challenge participants are required to pay a deposit of £299 and then raise a minimum of £3,000.

This is an epic adventure to awe-inspiring Everest Base Camp in Nepal. Meeting the villagers whilst trekking through this landlocked gem of a nation is one of its greatest pleasures. The route takes you via the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar through beautiful valleys, dense forests and across glacial rivers, enjoying tantalising glimpses of the mighty Everest, before you reach your goal of Base Camp. For this challenge participants are required to pay a deposit of £499 and then raise a minimum of £4,200.

10 Days - 8th-17th November 2019

This is an adventurous trek through lush jungle to the ancient ruins of the 'Lost City' of Teyuna. The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1979, run through Colombia and end close to the Caribbean Sea on the north coast. They are cloaked in dense tropical rainforest, which hides the ruins of Teyuna, dating back some 1500 years, and more famously known as the Lost City. As the world gets smaller it becomes harder to visit places before they become a tourism hotspot, but the Lost City trek gives you the opportunity to do just that. To reach the 1200 ancient stone steps that lead up to the city you will trek on steep, sometimes overgrown and muddy trails, through lush jungle and river valleys, crossing clear streams. En route you will pass indigenous Kogui communities, descendants of those early builders; you will sleep near these settlements in hammocks. After time to explore the uncrowded ruins and marvel at what would have been here in years gone by, you will head to colonial Cartagena. With a stunning Caribbean backdrop, this is a tough trek full of natural beauty and cultural discovery, and is guaranteed to be a trip of a lifetime!

For this challenge participants are required to pay a deposit of £449 and then raise a minimum of £4,100.
